" Heavenly Beings "

Kalutara Rajamaha Vihara, Sri Lanka

Prince Siduhat (Siddhartha) left his wife, newborn son and the life
at the Palace in search of the Truth, to end the suffering and to
eventually become Buddha. He changed his clothes to a simple robe.
He cut his hair and threw the hair in the air stating that he will
find The Truth of Life to end the suffering.

The gods who were watching him from
heaven, caught the hair and built a “Stupa” (Temple)
in heaven as a symbol of Seeking the Truth of Life. This Stupa
is called “Silumini Seya”.

The figures around the Stupa
with clasped hands are the gods from Heaven Praising the Great Mystery of Life.
